WELCOME to the current home for the casual format called QUICKDRAW!

"It's HIGH NOON and your Marshal is about to be in a shootout ... Quick! DRAW!"

Casual | Multiplayer | Singleton | Constructed

What is Quickdraw?
(aka What is Quickdraw and why it's not actually just the Tiny Leaders format)
  • Quickdraw is a casual format with easy-to-brew decks that are thematically based around a creature called your "Marshal".
  • A Marshal must be a 4 Mana Value (MV) creature (but it can be less if it’s legendary).
  • All other cards must be 3 MV or less.
  • Quickdraw is:
    • Casual
    • Multiplayer
    • Singleton
    • Constructed
  • Your Marshal is always in your opening hand, and you can “freecast” it from your first hand without paying its mana cost.
  • 30-card decks.
  • Only 10 life.
  • Blazing fast rounds!
  • Turn 1 wins ENCOURAGED!

Gameplay Rules:
  • No mulligans.
  • Each deck is 30 cards.
  • Each player starts with 10 life.
  • No maximum hand size.
  • Your Marshal does not start in or return to the Command Zone, but any cards that refer to your “Commander” do refer to your “Marshal.”
  • Start your opening hand by finding your Marshal from the deck, putting it into your hand, then drawing six cards.
  • You may “free-cast” your Marshal without paying any “non-X” Mana Cost, but only during your first turn.
  • Turn 1 wins are encouraged!

Deckbuilding around your Marshal:
  • A "Marshal" is usually a 4 Mana Value creature, but:
    • Whereas nonlegendary Marshals must be 4 mana (like the Nephilim, for example),
    • Legendary Marshals can be 4 mana or less.
  • Thematically, the cards in your deck should be “flavorful” to represent your Marshal.
  • All spells must match your Marshal's color identity or be colorless.
  • Your deck can have no legendary creatures (except your Marshal if your Marshal is legendary), but other legendary cards are allowed (like legendary sorceries or artifacts, etc.).
  • Total cards per deck = 30.
  • Max #of Lands, BASIC ONLY = 12 basics.
  • Max #of Creatures (including your Marshal) = 9.
  • Singleton format (no duplicate cards except for basic lands).

Banned Card List (as of Jan 29, 2024):
  • All of the legendary “God” creatures.
  • All of the Planeswalkers.
  • All of the Companion creatures.
  • All non-basic lands.
  • All “un-set” cards with a Silver or Gold border or Acorn stamp
  • Cards with the card type Conspiracy
  • Cards whose art, text, name, or combination thereof that are racially or culturally offensive are banned in all formats.
  • Cards that reference playing for ante.
